Mussandam Overnight Dhow Trip

Experience the amazing above and below water environment of the Musandam. Let us take you for an unforgettable experience to some beautiful dive sites and encounter a plethora of marine life including many varieties of colourful tropical reef fish, schooling snappers,  trevallies, barracudas and a variety of stingrays, turtles, moray eels and some chance encounters of whale sharks, devil rays, eagle rays & guitar sharks.

 

If you are an avid underwater photographer or videographer then this is an essential dive location to capture the beautiful and colourful aquatic realm!

 

Our mighty Musandam trips run once a month are amongst the most popular for both new and experienced divers! We are delighted to offer fully kitted out cabins, with air-conditioning, hot running water and delicious food on board! The friendly staff also do all of the tank changes required between dives to ensure you can relax in between the 6 included dives!

 

*We may at times, have to switch dhows and dates depending on number of passengers for that particular trip, but wherever possible – we will aim to schedule as above.

 

Cost: (2012 rates)

 

Diver: Dhs1910 (1850 Dhs + Dhs 30 / day for diving permit)

Non Diver: Dhs1600

(Trip is inclusive of full board meals, twin or triple share cabins depending upon dhow, 6 tank dives with weights, lovely hot water showers that we appreciate and air conditioned cabins with bathrooms)

 

Ensuite rooms: Surcharge Dhs70 per night (e.g. for 2 nights, surcharge is Dhs140, subject to availability)

For Children: Children between 5 and 10 years of age will be charged 50% of the adult rate when staying in their parent’s cabin. Children under the age of 5 will be free in their parent’s cabin.

Please note for diver’s safety it is required that all divers have a Surface Marker Buoy. We have these available for purchase or rent if required. Please contact us for details.

PADI Advance Open Water Diver (additional): Dhs1000 – do the course on the dhow and the total price is only 2850 inclusive of all necessary equipment and items as listed above, excluding surface market buoy!

 

Round trip Transportation from Abu Dhabi to Dibba Port:  200 Dhs / person (limited space available so reserve early.  Leave from Khalifa City A, Abu Dhabi at 3:00pm sharp)

 

Digital Underwater Camera rental: Dhs250 per day (Sea & Sea camera or equivalent)

Enriched Air 32-36% cylinder (for EANx certified divers only): Dhs60 per cylinder.  Must reserve 1 week in advance. 

 

Please note: To send out Speedboat to pick up or drop off guest from Dibba Port to Dhow/Limah Bay Cost will be Dhs800 per trip.

 

Other Possible Additional Charges by dhow operator: (outwith Al Mahara Charges): Alcohol and soft drink beverages (which is collected on the boat by the boat staff).

 

For booking the Musandam trips, we require a completed booking form and payment within 14 days of departure so we can secure a space for you. You have the option to pay by credit card (must be physically present to process) or by cash prior to trip departure.

 

Cancellation policy:   We are invoiced and must pay for your space by noon Monday prior to the trip.  Therefore the following cancellation policy applies.  Less than 48hours full payment will be kept; 72hours-48hours 50% payment will be kept.   Also, we have been holding a space for you that other divers may have wanted to book.  (You have until noon on Tuesday to cancel for the 48 hour period and noon on Monday to cancel for the 72 hour period.  Example 1:  Mr. John calls and cancels Tuesday after 12:00pm.  Since it is after 12:00pm Tuesday, and his trip has already been paid for as we leave for Dibba within 48 hours, he will have to forfeit the complete amount of his trip, or he can find someone else to replace him on the trip.  Example 2:  Mr. John calls and cancels Monday after 12:00pm.  Since it is after 12:00pm Monday, and his trip has already been paid for as we leave for Dibba within 72 hours, he will have to forfeit 50% of the amount of his trip or he can find someone else to replace him on the trip.)
